Terms of use
What you can expect from PML, and what it expects from you. No clause here is written to be skipped.

What PML is
A tool for measuring how a product team works today, across ten domains, and seeing where to focus next. It is built and run by Sandro Maia. Using it means accepting what is on this page and in the privacy notice.
What it costs and what that buys
The assessment, your result and your improvement priorities are free. Being free is also the honest limit of what can be promised: there is no guaranteed uptime, no support window, and no commitment that a feature available today will exist next year. If PML ever has to shut down, you will be told in advance and given a way to take your results with you.
What the person running PML can see
This is the part most services hide, so it is stated plainly. To operate the product and know whether it works, Sandro Maia can see which accounts exist, the email addresses used to create them, how far each person got through an assessment, and the resulting maturity scores. Feedback you submit is read directly.
Your answers are not browsed for curiosity, are never shared with anyone else, and are never sold. If your organisation needs a stricter arrangement than that sentence, say so before your team starts — it is a reasonable thing to ask for.
What you keep
What you write stays yours: your answers, your action plan, the name of your team. No ownership of it is claimed. The framework itself — the ten domains, the statements and the scoring — belongs to PML, and is here for you to use inside your organisation, not to repackage and sell.
Using it fairly
- One account per person. Do not share credentials — share a result link instead, which exists for exactly that.
- Do not attack, probe or automate against the service, or try to reach data that is not yours.
- Do not put other people's personal information into the free-text fields. They are for notes about how your team works.
- Do not use PML to rank, appraise or discipline individuals. It measures how a team works, and it is not evidence about a person.
Share links
A share link lets anyone holding the address see that one result without an account. It expires 90 days after creation and can be revoked at any time from the result page. Once you send it, where it travels is out of your control — send it as deliberately as you would send the document itself.
Suspension
An account that attacks the service, abuses other users, or breaks the section above can be suspended or removed. Where there is a person to talk to rather than a script, you will hear the reason first.
Liability
PML is provided as it is. It produces a self-assessment, not a fact: the score reflects what the people answering believed on the day they answered. Decisions you take on the back of it are yours. To the extent the law allows, no liability is accepted for losses arising from using it — which is the usual sentence, and is what being free honestly affords.
Changes and governing law
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Material changes will be announced in the product rather than quietly published.
These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil, where the person running PML is based. This does not take away protections you have under the law of the country you live in.
